In view of the cases of corona infection, the Andhra Pradesh government decided to extend the lockdown in the state till June 20. With this, the government has also decided to relax the restrictions.
On Sunday, 8,976 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Andhra Pradesh and 90 people died. At the same time, 13,568 people were cured in the last 24 hours. The number of infection cases in Chittoor district has crossed two lakhs. Chittoor is second only to East Godavari in terms of number of infection cases in the state.
17.58 lakh Kovid cases in Andhra Pradesh so far
A bulletin of the Health Department said that the number of infected in the state has gone up to 17.58 lakh while 16,23,447 people have been cured and 11,466 people have died. The number of patients under treatment has come down to 1,23,426.
Most deaths in Chittoor
In the last 24 hours, 1669 new cases were reported from East Godavari, 1232 from Chittoor and 995 from Anantapuramu. Chittoor has so far recorded the highest death toll in the state at 1376. In the remaining 10 districts, less than 800 cases of infection were reported. In Vijayanagar, the least number of 298 people confirmed the infection.
Where were the number of Kovid deaths?
According to the bulletin, 12 people died in Chittoor, nine in West Godavari, eight each in Anantapuramu, Guntur, Srikakulam and Vijayanagara, seven in Prakasam during the last 24 hours. At the same time, six people each died in East Godavari, Kurnool and SPS Nellore, five each in Visakhapatnam and Krishna and two in Cuddapah.
