Pant said after the match, “I am feeling very disappointed.” I think he scored 10 to 15 runs more on this wicket. Hetty (Shimron Hetmyer) played a brilliant innings and it was because of him that we were able to get so close. ”

He said, “When we had to score 14 or 16 runs, we were planning that whoever was on strike would try to score runs.”

De Villiers scored 23 runs in the final over of Bangalore’s innings, including three sixes over Marcus Stoinis. Pant defended the decision to give the final over to Stoinis.

He said, “The spinners were not getting as much help as we had thought and that is why I decided to get the last over from Stoinis. It is good to have a positive side from all the matches, as a young team we want to improve each day. ”

Bangalore captain Virat Kohli also admitted that the score of 160–165 was competitive on this pitch but his team made some mistakes which made the match very close.

Kohli said, “De Villiers played a brilliant innings after losing two wickets for 30 runs.” Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar also played useful innings. The score of 160–165 was competitive on this pitch and we were able to score 10 runs more. However, we made a lot of fouls in fielding and Hetmyer played a very good innings towards the end which made the match very close but most of the time we dominated the match. ”
