Bihar Director General of Police SK Singhal has issued a unique decree for all the employees of the Police Department. According to the order of the DGP, disciplinary action will be taken against the policemen if they do not wear well dress uniform while on duty. An order in this regard has been issued by the Bihar Police Headquarters.
In the order, the DGP has admitted that many personnel of Bihar Police are negligent in wearing the uniform or if they do not wear the uniform properly, then it tarnishes the image of the police in the eyes of the public. The DGP has said in the guidelines that it has been seen many times that while on duty, police officers are wearing other clothes instead of uniform or their wearing or maintenance of uniform is not as per the prescribed criteria.

DGP Singhal says that due to this, a sense of disrespect is displayed towards the uniform and at the same time the image of the police is tarnished in the eyes of the general public. Regarding this, the DGP has issued guidelines to all the police officers and personnel that they will ensure to wear the uniform according to the parameters while on duty.
In fact, in a survey conducted by the DGP at his level, it was found that many police officers and policemen are not following the dress code manual. On several occasions, officers and personnel were found without police dress. Not only this, deficiencies have also been found in the way policemen wear uniforms.
At the same time, some policemen were also seen careless about the maintenance of their uniforms. Whereas the government gives allowance to the policemen for uniform maintenance. The Police Headquarters has admitted that due to not wearing the uniform properly, the image of the police is getting tarnished among the common people.
