In Rajasthan, Section 144 was imposed in Baran district on Sunday. Internet services were also banned during this period. According to police, the move comes after the brutal murder of a teenager here. The incident took place in the labour settlement of Pond Para area of Baran. It is alleged that a man named Hemant Rathore killed a teenager named Azad on Saturday evening in a nearly one and a half year old fight.
According to ASP Vijay Swarnakar, the barbaric murder was carried out under a personal rivalry. There is no such thing as communal colour. The deceased was fired upon twice and then attacked with an iron rod. The incident near Baran Grain Mandi was witnessed by some people, but he remained a mute spectator. CCTV footage shows Azad being beaten up till his death. The accused roamed the street for about five minutes after executing the incident.
A video of the incident was posted on the internet on Saturday. The district administration then imposed curfew under Section 144 of crpc. Internet services were also suspended till 3 am on Monday. SSHO Mangilal Yadav said that a case has been registered against accused Hemant Rathore and some unidentified persons in the case. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after postmortem on Saturday night. A search was on for the accused.
