The condition of India’s great sprinter Milkha Singh, who was infected with the Kovid-19 virus, is improving continuously, the spokesperson of PGIMER (Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) Hospital gave information on Sunday. Milkha Singh (91 years) is in ICU of PGIMER.
Hospital spokesperson Ashok Kumar said, “There is a steady improvement in the condition of legendary sprinter Milkha Singh who was admitted to the ICU since June 3 for the treatment of Kovid-19.
Milkha Singh’s family also issued a statement through spokesperson saying that his condition is improving. According to the spokesperson, his wife Nirmal Kaur (82 years) continues to fight with the disease and is admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali.
Milkha Singh’s servant was also found infected with the corona virus and it is feared that the couple became Kovid-19 positive after coming in contact with them. Four-time Asian Games gold medalist and Commonwealth Games champion Milkha Singh missed out on a bronze medal in the 400m final at the 1960 Rome Olympics by a narrow margin.
