Sunil Sagar, CEO of Shanti Mukund Hospital in Delhi, wept as he spoke of the lack of oxygen in the hospital. He said that is a very difficult situation. We have very little oxygen left. If we are not able to provide oxygen, our patients will die. The CEO of Makund Hospital in Karkardooma in the capital got upset when he came to know that there was only 2 hours of oxygen left in his hospital. She starts this five-minute video with the feeling that we are feeling helpless at the moment. Such situations have never been seen before, people are panic. She further states that we are seeing young people, who are on ventilators. We are no longer able to help them. We do not want any of you to face this kind of problem. She also says that we are having emotional break down.
Government fails to anticipate infection
AIIMS director Randeep Guleria says that the government has failed to predict the spread of the disease infection. The health care system of the country is suffering due to this. Dr. Guleria emphasized the need to stop the rapidly increasing case load and break the transmission chain. Dr. Guleria said that there is a need to increase beds, medicine or oxygen rapidly in health infrastructure like hospitals.
