Annapurna Devi was elected MP for the first time

After this, the party also made him the national vice-president and co-in-charge of Haryana. Now Annapurna Devi has been included in the Modi cabinet.

Step into politics after husband’s death
MP Annapurna Devi has studied up to post graduate. She was married to Ramesh Prasad Yadav. He was also a minister in Unified Bihar in 1998. After the death of Ramesh Prasad Yadav, in 1999, Annapurna Devi contested the assembly by-election and became an MLA for the first time. After winning for the second time in the elections held a year later, she became a minister in unified Bihar. In 2013, Annapurna Devi became the Minister of Water Resources in the then Hemant Soren government. But a year later, in the year 2014, he had to face defeat in the assembly elections.

BJP entry in 2019, minister in 2021
Annapurna Devi left Lalu Yadav’s RJD and joined BJP in 2019 and became MP by defeating Jharkhand Vikas Morcha candidate Babulal Marandi by about 4.5 lakh votes in this election. However, now Babulal Marandi is a big leader of Jharkhand BJP. This is Annapurna Devi’s first term as MP. Prior to this, Annapurna Devi has also been MLA from Jharkhand and Bihar for 4 times.
