Kolkata suffered a close defeat by 18 runs at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in the 15th match of the 14th season of the IPL played at the Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday, despite stormy innings of Pat Cummins (66 not out) and Andre Russell (54).
The Chennai Super Kings, after losing the toss and batting first, made a mammoth score of 220 for three and then dismissed Kolkata for 202 runs in 19.1 overs. Kolkata has not won a single win on this ground since 2012.
This is Chennai’s third win in four matches with six points and the number one spot in the table. Kolkata have suffered a third defeat in four matches. The team is two points and is at number six.
