First defeat at MMA and Ritu Phogat out of the title race, Arjan Bhullar the first Indian-origin fighter to win the world title

New Delhi
Ritu Phogat, who has tried her hand at mixed martial arts (MMA) after saying goodbye to wrestling, has received a shock. With the first defeat, India’s daughter’s dream of winning the MMA title also remained unfulfilled.

Before the match, Ritu was considered to be a strong contender for victory, but on Saturday she suffered a defeat at the hands of B. Nguyen. If Ritu had won this match, she could have reached the One Championship Atomweight Grand Prix starting May 28, 2021, where she would have to face eight fighters who

would put all their strength to become world champions.

Arjan Bhullar created history
On the other hand, Canada’s Arjan Bhullar defeated Brandon Vera to claim the title of heavyweight world champion in the Singapore One Championship. He also became the first Indian-origin fighter to do this feat. Arjan also came to this professional wrestling from Pahalwani. He won the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medal in Delhi. As well as becoming the first Indian-origin wrestler to represent Canada in London in 2012.
