The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the AAP government and jail authorities to provide proper medical monitoring and treatment to Kovid-19-infected former MP Mohammad Shahabuddin and get him admitted to the DDU hospital. Justice Pratibha M Singh said that the doctors on duty, who are treating the patients of Corona, will monitor and treat Shahabuddin’s health condition. Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) will consult senior doctors if necessary.

Santosh K Tripathi, Additional Permanent Advocate of the Delhi Government, said that according to the jail manual, no prisoner is allowed to talk to the family if there is a prisoner outside the jail. The court said, “But he is ill.” To this, Tripathi told the court that the convict could be allowed to speak to any one of the relatives under the supervision of the jail authorities. He also told the court that Shahabuddin is being given proper treatment and will be given further.
