On Sunday, four patients died due to lack of medical oxygen at a private hospital in Rewari, Haryana. The district administration has also launched an investigation to find out the cause of death. Following the incident, some relatives of patients who lost their lives outside the Kovid Hospital building staged a sit-in and alleged a massive oxygen
A hospital official said, “Three patients died in the ICU while one patient died in the ward.” We have a limited supply of oxygen. We are constantly telling the administration about this. He said, ‘We are sending the empty oxygen cylinder to the vendor for refill. We have been telling the authorities since 9 o’clock in the morning that we have limited oxygen available now. ‘ The official said that the hospital consumes 300 medical oxygen cylinders daily and 114 Kovid patients are admitted in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Ajay Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Narnaul and holding the additional charge of Rewari District Deputy Commissioner, said that the hospital has alleged oxygen shortage and death of four patients. He said that Sub Divisional Magistrate of Rewari, Chief Medical Officer and other officers of Rewari are present in the hospital and they are ascertaining the cause of death of the patients. Kumar said that the hospital is being accused of lack of oxygen while regular supply of oxygen is being done by the administration.
