The Supreme Court has directed all the states to implement the scheme of ‘One Nation, One Card’. During the last hearing, the Supreme Court had said in its important order that community kitchens should be arranged for migrant laborers in each of the states across the country.

It was also directed to complete the registration work of migrant laborers at the earliest. Taking cognizance of all the problems from the transportation of migrant laborers due to Kovid, the Supreme Court is hearing and has reserved the order in the matter.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court on Friday, the court said that there will be no excuse in the matter, all the states should implement the scheme of One Nation One Card. During the hearing, Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave raised the issue of migrant laborers and said that many migrant laborers are not registered and due to this they are not getting the benefit of government benefits. In 2018, the Supreme Court had issued a direction that a portal should be made for the registration of laborers but the data is not there yet. While the situation has worsened. The Supreme Court questioned that what are the schemes of the government for the laborers who are not registered. Then the Solicitor General said that the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana has been implemented till November.

The Supreme Court said that our only concern is that the workers who do not have any identity card, they should get the benefits of the schemes. The Supreme Court asked the central government what is the status of the national database. What happened to your database? what is your project Why is it taking so many months? However, the Supreme Court has reserved the order in this matter.

During the last hearing, the Supreme Court had said that the registration process of migrant laborers is very slow. The registration process must be expedited so that at the time of Kovid, these migrant laborers can get the benefit of the benefit schemes. The court had said that the registration process of migrant laborers and laborers of unorganized sectors should be expedited. Only after registration, their identity will be ensured from the authority and they will be able to get the benefit of all the benefit schemes.

The Supreme Court had said that the government should ensure that whatever beneficiary is there, the benefit of the scheme is available, including migrant laborers. The court had said. That the registration process needs to be monitored. An application has been filed in the Supreme Court saying that the migrant laborers should get food security. They should get the benefit of cash transfer as well as transport facilities should be given to them to reach their destination. Along with this, the workers affected due to Kovid in all parts of the country should get the benefit of all government benefits. The Supreme Court had asked the Center and the states to complete the registration process of workers in the unorganized sector at the earliest.
