Yuvraj Singh (Yuvraj Singh) has been counted among the best cricketers of India. Yuvraj has given many memorable performances for the country. Yuvraj said, ‘So the Indian team had lost the 50-over World Cup (2007), right? There was a lot of stir in Indian cricket at that time and this was followed by India’s two-month tour of England. Apart from this, there was also a tour of South Africa and Ireland. Then there was the T20 World Cup for a month. So in total I had to stay away from home for four months.
In Gaurav Kapoor’s show 22 Yards podcast, Yuvraj said, ‘So maybe the seniors felt that they needed to take a break. Obviously no one took the T20 World Cup seriously. I expected that I would become the captain of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup but then the command was handed over to Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
When Yuvraj was asked how was his relationship with Dhoni after Dhoni became the captain, he said, ‘Whoever the captain is, you must support him. Whether it is Rahul Dravid, or Sourav Ganguly or whoever it is in the future. After all you want to be the teamman and I was like that.’
Yuvraj Singh performed brilliantly in India’s T20 World Cup victory. He played many memorable innings. In the final, India won the title (India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup) by defeating Pakistan. In the same tournament, Yuvraj hit six sixes in an over off Stuart Broad in the match against England.
