The European country Germany has become the first country in the world to allow a mixed Kovid-19 vaccine against Corona. The government has advised that people who have taken the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine can now take a second dose of either Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna’s vaccine, regardless of age. Significantly, in many countries of the world, the first and second doses of the same type of vaccine are involved in the vaccination campaign.
Germany allowed people to mix vaccination
In Britain, America and France, the government has allowed people to use another vaccine after some time as per their wish. But Germany became the first country in the world to officially allow mixed vaccination to its citizens. According to media reports, the decision of the government came a day after the recommendation of the Standing Committee on Immunization. The committee recommended that the second dose should be administered four weeks after the first dose of AstraZeneca.
Dosage of MRN after AstraZeneca Vaccine
The Standing Committee on Immunization in Germany, STIKO, said that ‘current research results show’ that the immune response following mixed-dose vaccination is ‘clearly superior’. Currently approved by the European Medicines Agency are Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna’s MRN vaccines. German Chancellor Angela Merkel took steps towards mixed vaccination using doses of two different companies. According to the news of CNN, in June, he used Moderna’s vaccine as his second dose after getting the first dose of AstraZeneca’s vaccine. The Kovid-19 vaccine made by Oxford-AstraZeneca is being known as Covishield and is being made by Serum Institute of India.
