Will keep a close watch on China-Pak move in Indian Ocean
China has now set its eyes on the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea after displaying its grandeur over the South Chine Sea. China’s submarines, warships and spy ships are continuously patrolling in and around the Andaman Sea. On the other hand, Pakistan and China are continuously incorporating state-of-the-art tanks and armored vehicles on their land borders. For this reason, India has also bought heavy lift helicopter Chinook and attack helicopter Apache shortly before to increase its tactical strength.
India buying 24 MH-60 Romeo helicopters
During the visit of US President Donald Trump, India signed a deal to buy 24 Multius MH60 Romeo helicopters. The MH60 Romeo choppers will replace the old UK-built Sea King helicopters of India. These helicopters will enable the Indian Defense Forces to successfully carry out surface and submarine piercing operations. These helicopters worth Rs 15,157 crore can be operated from frigates, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers. A helicopter costs around $ 28 million.
America’s ‘Romeo’ is a ‘flying frigate’ in the sea
MH60 Romeo helicopters are called flying frigates at sea. The chopper is equipped with multiple-mode radar, night vision equipment, Hellfire missiles, MK-54 torpedoes and rockets capable of destroying enemy submarines. India currently has 140 warships but a strict shortage of such attack naval helicopters is being felt. Around 300 MH60 RC Hawk helicopters are being used worldwide. The helicopter has a firepower of about 834 km and weighs 689 kg.
MH-60 Romeo will be the era of Chinese Submarine
The MH60 RC Hawk helicopter will become an eye, ear and long-range enemy destroyer weapon for the Indian Navy. These helicopters are being inducted into the Indian Navy at a time when India is facing infiltration of Chinese submarines and warships in the Indian Ocean. Reddors and sensors mounted in Sea Hawk will not only be able to identify submarines going underwater but will also be able to hunt them in time. Alam is that the caption of every submarine is frightened by this fierce hunter.
Romeo helicopter is equipped with these weapons
The MH60 Romeo helicopter can be equipped with many different types of weapons. It has four points for the deployment of weapons. In which Lockheed Martin’s AGM-114 Hellfire Anti-Surface Missile can be mounted. It can launch anti-submarine AKT MK50 or MK46 active / passive torpedoes to target submarines. For its safety, it can also be fitted with a 7.62 mm machine gun.
