London| The Indian cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka has now escaped cancellation and will be delayed by five days after two COVID-19 positive cases were reported at the Sri Lanka team camp in the last two days. According to the new schedule, the first ODI will now be played on July 18 instead of July 13 and the final match of the series, the third T20 match, will be played on July 29, two days after the original schedule.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Saturday announced the revised schedule of India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, 2021, the BCCI said in a statement.
The BCCI said, “The decision to revise the itinerary was taken on the basis of health advisories following the detection of two COVID positive cases by the Sri Lankan team.”
The statement further said, the tour of three ODIs and as many T20 International tours will now start from July 18, 2021.

18 July: 1st ODI
July 20: 2nd ODI
23 July: Third ODI
July 25: First T20
July 27: Second T20
July 29: Third T20
