IPL 2021: Jose Butler’s century, 124 runs off just 64 balls

Rajasthan Royals star opener Jose Butler was in form of form on Sunday. In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, he scored a brilliant century to take his team to a strong score of 220 for 3 wickets.

The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman made a big innings of 124 runs with the help of 11 fours and 8 skyscracked sixes off just 64 balls. His strike rate was 193.75.

Rajasthan did not have a good start and Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after scoring just

12 runs. After this, Butler, along with captain Sanju Samson, not only handled the innings of the Royals but also gave him a faster pace. Butler and Samson shared 150 runs in 13.4 overs. Samson was dismissed for 48 off 33 balls. But Butler’s game continued at the other end.

Butler completed his century in the 18th over with a single off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He is the fourth England player to score a century in the IPL. Before him, Kevin Pietersen, Ben Stokes and Johnny Bairstow have done so.

He scored 6, 4, 0, 4, 6 runs in the same over of Mohammad Nabi. This former Afghanistan captain also had no way to stop Butler.
