Players of the Delhi Capitals have also moved to Quarantine after the Coronavirus breach broke out at the Kolkata Knight Riders camp. On Monday, KKR players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrior were found to be Kovid-19 positive.
Delhi Capitals played Kolkata Knight Riders on 29 April. The Delhi team is currently in Ahmedabad. According to the website, the entire team of Delhi Capitals has been asked by the BCCI to go to Quarantine but at the moment it is not clear what its duration will be.
It is not clear whether the players will be able to practice at Motera on Tuesday after the players have gone to the quarantine. According to a Delhi Capitals official, “We do not have any information about whether there will be a practice session or not”.
Delhi to meet KKR on 8 May
Delhi Capitals next play KKR in Ahmedabad on 8 May. After this, the match between Delhi and Rajasthan Royals is to be played in Kolkata on 11 May.
These players were found positive before the tournament started
Even before the start of the IPL, some players were found positive including players like Akshar Patel and Devdutt Paddikal. This is the first case of a player or support staff being found positive in the middle of the tournament. More than three lakh new cases of Kovid-19 infection are being reported in India every day whereas more than three thousand people are dying every day.
