In 2017, he had carried out two major robbery incidents. His name cropped up in the robbery of Rs 1.3 crore from a cash van near Chitkara University on the Chandigarh-Patiala highway. At the same time, he was involved in the robbery of Rs 35 lakh from an ATM loading van in Ropar. In 2020, Jaipal stunned the police by looting 33 kg of gold from Ludhiana.
Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta had earlier informed that gangster Bhullar and one of his associates Jaspreet Singh Jassi were killed during an encounter in Kolkata. Organized Crime Control Unit (OCCU) of Punjab Police was involved in this operation. In this action of Punjab Police, a policeman was also shot. Due to this he got injured.
On May 15, two ASIs – Bhagwan Singh and Dalwinder Jeet Singh – were shot dead at the Nai Anaj Mandi of Jagraon in Ludhiana district. This incident caused a stir. Jaipal Bhullar’s name came in this incident. The killing of Jaipal Bhullar (39), a resident of Ferozepur and Jassi (34) of Mohali, is being considered a major success of the Punjab Police.
