About 50 armed militants carried out this attack. After the attack, questions were also raised on the intelligence agencies that how they did not know anything about the movement of such a large number of militants. The separatist organization United Liberation Front openly claimed responsibility for the attack. The United Liberation Front is a coalition of extremist organizations operating in several northeastern states. With the coming together of organizations like ULFA (I) and NSCN (Khaplang), their capacity had increased manifold.
Army did surgical strike by entering Myanmar
In response to the attack, India carried out a surgical strike across the border in Myanmar on 9 June 2015. In the action of the Indian Army, 15-20 terrorists of NSCN were killed. These terrorists were suspected of being involved in the attack on the army. However, the Myanmar government still denies that the Indian Army took any such action by entering its border on 9 June.
