Lockdown News: 150 districts of the country may face lockdown, report given to the Center on the situation in Corona


New Delhi
Lockdown may occur in many districts of the country once again due to a growing case of Corona. A proposal has been prepared by the Ministry of Health under which a lockdown has been recommended for cities where the rate of corona infection is more than 15 percent. During this time it has been recommended to exempt only essential services.

The number of such districts can be closer to 150 in the country. The proposal came in the meeting of the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday. However, the
final decision on this will be taken by the Center after discussions with the states. Amidst the growing case of Corona, there was a need to take such steps to curb it.

In the proposal sent to the Center, it has been emphasized that the lockdown is necessary in the districts with more than 15 percent positivity rate. Lockdown will have to be imposed in these districts by exempting essential services or else the burden on the health system will increase.

A senior government official told that such steps are necessary to prevent the speed of corona in such districts where the rate of infection is high. A few weeks of lockdown can be used to break the Corona chain.

Oxygen crisis has arisen due to increasing cases of corona in the country. Meanwhile, the government said that the production of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) has increased to 8,922 tonnes per day, which is expected to exceed 9,250 tonnes per day by the end of the month.
