Prakash Bhagat, who is currently playing Ranji for Assam, is now forced to sell dal puri to earn his living. Bhagat has participated in various national and state level tournaments for the state. Bhagat said that as a member of the Assam team, he played in the Ranji Trophy in 2009-10 and against Railways and Jammu and Kashmir in 2010-11.
Deepak is married and has two small children. Bhagat said that if the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) or any other institution helps him financially, then he will be able to start his cricket career.
Bhagat said, ‘After leaving cricket, I started working in a mobile company to run my family, but I lost my job last year due to the lockdown implemented due to Corona.’ Former Ranji player Manimay Roy said that due to lack of financial support, most of the players from the Northeast are leaving the game.
