Waiting for the arrival of monsoon in the country. But, it will take some more time. There may be a delay of two days in the arrival of Monsoon in Kerala. It is now estimated to reach the state by June 3. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information on Sunday. Director General of Meteorological Department M Mohapatra said that due to ‘cyclonic circulation’ over Karnataka coast, the movement of Southwest Monsoon has been affected.

According to the department, the rain-related activities will intensify due to the strengthening of low-level south-westerly winds. Along with this, heavy rains are expected to occur in some places in the northeastern states during the next five days.
Monsoon normally knocks over Kerala on 1st June. With this, the four-month-long rainy season begins in the country. Earlier this month, the Meteorological Department had predicted the onset of monsoon in Kerala on May 31. Monsoon is expected to be normal this year.
When is the monsoon in Delhi?
Last month, private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather had said that the monsoon could reach Delhi by the end of June. In the month of September, Delhi is likely to receive heavy rainfall. However, there is a forecast of ’10-15% shortfall’ in rainfall during the rest of the season. Last year, the monsoon went on 30 September and the rainfall was 20% less.
