New Zealand will face challenge from India: Sodhi

London
New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi says that the New Zealand team will face a challenge from India in the final of the World Test Championship. World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand in Southampton from June 18 (WTC Final) the match is to be played. Sodhi has played 17 Tests, 33 ODIs and 57 T20Is for New Zealand.

Sodhi said, “It is good to play the final of the World Test Championship at a neutral venue. The Indian team has gone to Australia and

won the last two Test series there. He has played excellent cricket. The Indian team is in its form so New Zealand will have to face the challenge.

“The fact is that we have raised the level of our game and reached the final of the World Test Championship. It is good to reach the final of this championship but someday it will be better to go to Australia and win. This time will be a better era for New Zealand cricket.

Sodhi praised team captain Kane Williamson and the current New Zealand team. Sodhi said, ‘Williamson is very calm. We are lucky to have got such a leader. We have fast bowler Tim Southee who is the vice-captain and also a great leader at his level.

He said, ‘There are Saudis who say that we have to do this by going on the field. But Williamson is calm and sets an example. He works hard and leads the team from the front.
