Nothing worth a human life here

Author: Madhurendra Sinha
The country is going through a horrific period of Corona and hundreds of lives are lost every day. But a whole army of unscrupulous people is not deterred from taking advantage of such a sad time. At this time, many types of counterfeit goods are being found in the market, but there is a flood of medicines and other goods that defeat Corona. Everyday news is coming that Remedsevier’s needles and other fake medicines and their factories are being caught. By making fake medicines, they charge a hefty amount from

people, but do not think that this can also kill the lives of patients. Last year, there were reports of fake masks and sanitizers being caught in large numbers from many parts of the country. In view of such increasing trend, the government has put them under the compulsory Goods Act so that the culprits will be punished severely. But it is the game that is not stopping.

Spread net
Similarly black business of PPE kits is going on. 25 established companies in the country are licensed to manufacture it, but thousands of fake kits are also being made every day. Last year, there was a complaint that the kits that came in government procurement in Jharkhand were fake. Fake companies are indiscriminately building it with a carrybag or a blazer cover. The net of such fake drugs and other material is so spread that the international company Amazon removed one million products from its site which falsely claim treatment for corona disease.

The well-known economic magazine Forbes has reported in the recent issue that the market for counterfeit goods and medicines, especially corona-related goods and medicines, is flourishing at present in India at five and a half billion dollars. Last year, the CBI also issued a notice to all the states warning that such business is growing rapidly, which needs to be stopped. He also said that fake hand sanitizers, in fact, contain a chemical called methyl, which is dangerous to the skin. There have also been reports of fake sanitizer solution being sold in Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar. Fake sanitizers worth crores of rupees have been caught in various states.

India is the world’s third largest market for counterfeit drugs and the Corona era has given knuckles a big opportunity to earn illegal money. Apart from Corona medicines, many other types of medicines are being found here. This business has increased due to increasing online shopping. According to a report, 30 percent of the drugs purchased online are fake. Every year one million people die due to their consumption and their family members do not even know. In fact, these fake companies market their products online with such precision that no one can get cheated easily. A lot has been revealed by a report of FICCI in this regard. He says that in this pandemic the fake drugs have increased further. The organization has also launched a nationwide campaign about this. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), most of the cold and cold medicines are either fake or inferior. In a report in 2017, it said that 10.5 percent of medicines sold in India are fake. The Fake Free India Foundation, which has been working against fake products for years, has made shocking revelations in its report. It has said that the production of counterfeit goods has been going on in the country for the last five decades and due to this the governments are incurring a loss of at least one lakh crore rupees every year.

Nakkal is making fake medicines, food items, auto parts etc. indiscriminately. 40 percent of accidents in the country are caused by fake auto parts. Not only this, they are also behind the increasing cases of cancer. According to government data, there was a 324 percent increase in cancer cases in the year 2017-18. One reason for increasing cancer is that people are consuming fake products.

Currently, Nakkal is strongly involved in the production of corona exterminating drugs and other items and is playing with the life of innocents. Fake Free India says that it is necessary to eliminate this evil from its roots and for this, not only the governments but also the judiciary will have to come to the fore. People have to bring awareness so that they can identify fake products. There is a flood of fake goods at this time.

Exact packaging
Nakkal is now more sophisticated than ever. They make good packing and buy packaging goods from the same companies from which the manufacturers of genuine goods are made. Due to the exact packing, even educated customers get cheated and they buy them. In the greed to earn money, shopkeepers are selling them on a large scale. Seeing low prices, customers are also attracted to them. Cases of counterfeit medicines are increasing, due to which the health of people is also being threatened. How inhuman it is that people are losing their lives and on the other hand few people are sacrificing innocent people to earn money. The government should prosecute them for treason as they are the real traitors.
