A MiG-21 plane crashed during a military parade in Libya. Reportedly, the accident occurred at the Benin military base in Benghazi, Libya’s second most populous city. Accident occurred during military parade
According to Libyan media reports, a parade of Libyan National
Army (LNA) was being held in Benghazi at the time of the accident. A crowd of people had gathered to see it. In which the MiG-21 aircraft suddenly hit the ground while performing tricks. In this accident, the pilot of the plane Jamal ibn Amer died. LNA spokesman Khalifa al-Obeidi has expressed grief while confirming the accident.

Many pilots have been killed in India

The Indian Air Force also operates the MiG-21 fighter aircraft made in Soviet Russia. A few days earlier in the month, 29-year-old squadron leader Abhinav Chaudhary was killed in the accident of a MiG-21 aircraft in Moga, Punjab. Earlier in March also, a MiG-21 aircraft crashed in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. In this accident, Group Captain Ashok Gupta was martyred.

Earlier on 5 January, there was also a MiG-21 Bison crash at Suratgarh airbase of Rajasthan. However, the pilot was saved safely in that accident. The MiG-21, built in 1959, was one of the first supersonic fighter jets to fly at the fastest speed in its time.
