Patna News: Junior doctors of NMCH went on strike amid Corona crisis, allegations of scuffle with doctors on patient’s family

The cases of corona virus infection are continuously increasing in Bihar. Meanwhile, junior doctors of Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) in the capital Patna have stopped work demanding safety. The problems of patients have increased due to the closure of the work of junior doctors. Actually, the case is related to the uproar after the death of the patient.

Junior doctors allege that after the death of a patient on Thursday night, his family severely mutilated and scuffled doctors at the hospital.
Even at that time, junior doctors had stopped work, but later returned to work after the superintendent’s assurance. Meanwhile, on Friday morning, a patient’s family again mistreated junior doctors. After this incident, junior doctors again stopped work and went on strike.

What did the Superintendent of NMCH say
Nalanda Medical College Hospital is a Kovid Dedicated Hospital. Superintendent of NMCH, Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh said that how can we work on the condition of security. We cannot take work from our doctors in such a condition, because doctors do duty or get killed. It is no longer possible to run a hospital. He said that it is not true that two or two such incidents happen within 24 hours. With which mouth should I tell the doctors to return to work.

Demand for deployment of adequate police force in hospital
The Superintendent of NMCH said that we had written to the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police, demanding deployment of 20 police personnel in every shift in the hospital, but no hearing was done in this regard. Ramchandra, president of the Junior Doctors Association of NMCH, warned that the strike would continue until sufficient police force is deployed in the hospital.
