A military transport aircraft C-130 Hercules crashed while landing in the southern region of the Philippines. There were 85 people on the plane at the time of the accident. People engaged in relief and rescue have safely evacuated 40 people from the aircraft. The work of rescuing the rest is still going on. So far no casualties have been confirmed by the Philippines military.
40 people on board were rescued
Philippine Army Chief General Sirilito Sobejana said 40 people had been rescued from the wreckage of the plane. He said the plane crashed while trying to land on Jolo Island in Sulu province. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Aviation officials led by the Philippines Air Force have started an investigation into the accident.
It is being told that this transport aircraft was going to Jolo Island with soldiers from South Cagayan de Oro city. It is being told that at the time of landing, the pilot could not land the plane on the runway. Due to which the plane collided in the trees on the side of the runway. Due to this collision, the highly flammable fuel filled in the plane caught fire.
