Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has at present dismissed the possibility of a complete lockdown in the state. He on Friday directed the Deputy Commissioners of the six worst-hit districts of the state to ensure greater scrutiny by limiting the corona chain. He said that lockdown is not the solution as it will force the workers to migrate and they will be forced to move to states with relatively low health facilities.
According to an official statement released here, Amarinder Singh directed the Chief Secretary to motivate the retired doctors and nurses to work with MBBS final year students in Kovid centers. The statement said that he also suggested setting up temporary health care facilities in halls, gyms etc. The Chief Minister was presiding over a digitally high-level meeting to review the situation in the six worst-hit states of Ludhiana, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Jalandhar, Bathinda, Patiala and Amritsar in the worst-affected state of Kovid-19.
