On Saturday, a pigeon sat on the shoulder of the BSF jawan, who had probably flown across the border at Rorawala outpost here, an official said. A piece of paper was tied to the pigeon’s foot with a contact number on it. The BSF personnel handed over the bird to the police and wrote a written demand for legal action. Senior Superintendent of Police Dhruv Dahiya said that the BSF has demanded registration of an FIR against the pigeon.
‘Investigation of piece of paper’
The officer said, ‘Since the pigeon is a bird, I do not think an FIR can be filed against it. But we have referred the matter to legal experts for legal opinion. He said that the number written on a piece of paper tied in the pigeon’s foot is being analyzed. Pigeons have also been caught earlier in the border areas. Security forces have been suspected of spying through them.
