Ahead of next year’s assembly elections in Punjab, the Congress has breached the Aam Aadmi Party. Three AAP MLAs joined the Congress on Thursday. Along with Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Jagdav Singh Kamlu and Pirmal Singh Dhaula also joined the Congress. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh welcomed the three MLAs into the party.
According to the tweet of the Punjab unit of Congress,
Before leaving for Delhi for a meeting with the three-member committee set up to resolve squabbles in the Punjab unit of Congress, the Chief Minister inducted the three MLAs into the party. During this, CM’s wife Preneet Kaur was also present.
After leaving Congress, Khaira had joined AAP in December 2015. He was elected from Bholath assembly seat in 2017 on AAP ticket. He had resigned from the primary membership of AAP in January 2019 and started his own party ‘Punjab Ekta Party’.
