Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that workers working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) are not getting wages in many states. Taking a jibe at the government, he also questioned that how are these good days?
The Congress leader tweeted, ‘MNREGA workers in many states are not getting their wages. In the pandemic, when the government should have given additional financial assistance, then the workers’ rights are also being killed. Targeting the government, Rahul Gandhi said, “There is a world beyond the false rhetoric where even the stove is not able to burn in many homes – Yeh kaise acche din?”
Earlier, amid reports of expansion in the Union Cabinet, the Congress on Tuesday said the only criterion for allotment of ministerial berths is the ability to tweet against Rahul Gandhi. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said, “The ability to tweet against Rahul Gandhi is the only eligibility criteria for anyone to get a place in the Union Cabinet and nothing else matters.”
