RK Sacheti, executive director of the Indian Boxing Federation, lost the battle to Corona

Indian Boxing Federation (BFI) Executive Director RK Sacheti died on Tuesday from Kovid-19. He was 56 years old. This skilled sports administrator was on a ventilator in a hospital for some time after being infected with this dangerous virus.

The BFI said in a statement, ‘We are informing you with great sadness that RK Sacheti, Executive Director (BFI) left us all this morning and went on an infinite journey which created a big void in the sports
world. He was the IOC Olympic Task Force and competent administrator who made an incomparable contribution to the Indian Games. ‘

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed grief over Sacheti’s death. He tweeted, ‘Our dear RK Sacheti ji, executive director of Boxing Federation, lost in battle against Kovid-19. He made a significant contribution in putting India among the top countries in the boxing game. I wanted him to see the boxers at the Olympics. I express my condolences to his family for this loss. ‘

The Olympic Association of India (IOA) also mourned the death of Sacheti. “I am deeply saddened by the news of the untimely demise of IOA Joint Secretary, BFI Executive Director and dear friend Rajkumar Sacheti,” IOA Secretary General Rajiv Mehta said in a statement. The Indian Athletics Federation also mourned the demise of the sports administrator.
