This is Punjab’s second win in five matches this season and now has four points and has moved up to number five in the table. Mumbai have suffered their third defeat in five matches and are at number four in the table with four points.
Despite Rohit’s 52-ball 63, Mumbai’s team could score just 131 runs for six wickets. The Punjab Kings easily achieved this target with 14 goals remaining. Rohit said, ‘We failed to score a much bigger score. I still believe that this wicket is not too difficult for batting. You see how the (Punjab) Kings won by saving nine wickets.
He said that there was some lack of batting in the team, which failed to create a competitive score for the second consecutive match. Rohit said, ‘If you score 150-160, then you can hold on to the match. We failed to do so in the last two matches.
He credited Punjab bowlers, saying, ‘Their bowlers bowled well in the power play. Ishan Kishan and I were also trying to land a big shot but we were not successful. We have to understand better batting and bowling in difficult conditions.
