UK Government Scholarships for International StudentsChevening Scholarship
This scholarship is given by the UK Government. It is offered by the UK Government’s Global Scholarship Program for academically outstanding students. These grants are usually for one-year master’s degree programs in the UK. Most of these scholarships cover full tuition fees, an economy class return airfare to the UK, living allowance (individual), and additional allowances to cover necessary expenses. There are 1,500 Chevening Scholarships available for students from all over the world including India.

Commonwealth Masters Scholarship
Commonwealth Scholarships UK by the Department for International Development (DFID) to international students from developing Commonwealth countries for Masters and Ph.D. is given to do. This scholarship covers airfare, thesis grant (if applicable), additional allowances to cover personal basic expenses, examination and tuition fees, all.
Commonwealth Fellowship Plan
The Commonwealth Fellowship Scheme is a government initiative specifically undertaken for students from Commonwealth countries who make major contributions to their country upon completion of the higher education program in the United Kingdom. This scholarship covers the full tuition fee of the scholar, economy-class return and many other perks.
UK Institution Specific Scholarship
Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship
The Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship was instituted by St. John’s College in honor of Dr. Manmohan Singh. This scholarship is given to academically outstanding Indian students who wish to pursue doctorate studies in specific fields such as Science and Technology, Economics and Social Sciences at St. John’s College and Cambridge University. Priority is given to applications in aerospace engineering and energy studies.

The Global Study Award
The British Council, Study Portals and ISIC in partnership have launched ‘The Global Study Awards’ to encourage international students to study in the UK and expand their cultural understanding. The eligible candidate gets a scholarship of 10 lakhs. This scholarship is awarded twice a year to two international students.
Goa Education Trust Scholarship
Goa Education Trust (GET) aims to provide a medium for the students of Goa to avail golden opportunities of education in their fields of interest. The deserving students get scholarships and research fellowships by the universities. The scholarship covers full or half of the tuition fees for the courses.
Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship
The Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) awards 10 long-term awards each year to international students that cover living and living expenses in the UK, fees and contributions to international rents. This scholarship does not cover two year programs.

British Council Great Scholarships for Indian Students
British Council Great Scholarships has announced approximately 198 scholarships with a total budget of 26 crores each academic year in partnership with 40 UK universities. The scholarship covers approximately 169 postgraduate and 29 undergraduate awards ranging from arts and design to engineering, law and management courses.
American, European and United Kingdom institutions offer these scholarships for financial help to talented students to meet all requirements including tuition fees. These scholarships are basically awarded for university courses and specific programmes.
Felix Scholarship is offered for academically outperforming and underprivileged students from India and various developing countries who are below 30 years of age. Candidate must have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree from a reputed Indian University. Each year the Felix Scholarship Trust offers a maximum of six scholarships to students to pursue postgraduate education at the University of Reading and School of Oriental, University of Oxford and African Studies.
