Allegations of negligence in treatment
Despite this, he was not treated properly. The family says that the government was negligent in treating Swamy and he cannot remain a mute spectator to the issue. Stan Swamy was arrested by the NIA and was accused of having links with Maoists. Cases were initiated against Swamy under several sections of the UAPA.

Arrest in October 2020
Violence broke out at Bhima Koregaon in Pune on January 1, 2018 after a program organized by the Dalit community. 1 person died in this incident. Stan Swamy was arrested in October last year for making inflammatory speeches at this event. He was accused of having Maoist links, but Swamy denied the allegations.
