Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the Chief Minister Bal Seva Yojana in the state on Saturday. Under which the government will give the expenses of marriage as well as education of children. The government will also provide laptops and tablets for their online studies. Yogi said that due to Corona epidemic, the parents of many children in the state have gone untimely. It is the responsibility of the state government to provide all the developmental resources including the upbringing, education and initiation of such children. The state government is sympathetic towards these children. They will be provided all the opportunities for progress like other children.
One lakh rupees for girls’ wedding
The Chief Minister said that children who have lost their parents or legal guardians, or if only one of them were alive due to Kovid-19 and who have become orphans, will be properly looked after by the state government. Under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per month will be provided to the child’s parents or caregiver till they reach adulthood. Not only this, the children studying in schools will be given tablets or laptops, then the government will also make proper arrangements for the marriage of the girls. An amount of 1,01,000 will be given by the state government for the marriage of the girl child.
Yogi government has identified children
Yogi had instructed the Women and Child Development Department to formulate an action plan about identifying such children as well as making proper arrangements for their development about a fortnight ago. According to the information collected so far, 197 children have been identified in the state, whose mother and father have both died due to corona infection, while 1799 children have lost either of their parents.
4 thousand per month to carers
4,000 per month financial assistance will be provided to the parent or caregiver until the child becomes an adult. Apart from this, such children below the age of ten years who do not have a parent or family, all such children will be cared for by the State Government in the Government Children’s Home (Shishu) operated by the Government of India or with its own resources. State Children’s Homes (Shishu) are operated in Mathura, Lucknow Prayagraj, Agra and Rampur.
Girls will be taken care of here
He informed that care of minor girls will be ensured. They will be housed in the Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools (Residential) run by the Government of India or in the Government Children’s Homes (Girls) run by the State Government. Where there will be arrangements for their care and education.
At present 13 such child houses are operated in the state. Apart from this, they will be taken care of by keeping them in 18 Atal residential schools being set up in the state. For proper arrangement of marriage of girls, the State Government will provide an amount of Rs. 1,01,000 for the marriage of girls. Besides, it will provide tablet or laptop facilities to all such children studying in school or college or pursuing vocational education.
