During the vaccination in Uttar Pradesh, separate cases of uproar, ruckus and attack on the health team have come to the fore. In Bhognipur area of Kanpur Dehat district, there was a ruckus on Friday after people getting vaccinated in front of them. Suspended DPRO beat up a young man and in response the other
The team of Health Department reached on Friday for Kovid vaccination in Asuvapur village of Bhognipur police station area. The team was doing its job. People allege that suspended Panchayati Raj officer Jitendra Sachan, a relative of the village head, reached there with his supporters and private security personnel and started pressurizing boys below 18 years of age to get the vaccine. The boys argued that the government order was to vaccinate those above 18 years, so they would not participate.
Jitendra slapped a protesting youth. On resistance his wife and mother were also beaten up. Seeing the protests escalating, Jitendra’s personal security personnel broke the head of a man with a rifle hook. In response, the villagers pelted stones and Jitendra’s people also pelted stones. Some people got their heads off in this. Seeing the ruckus, the health teams fled from there. Seeing the pressure of the villagers, Jitendra ran from there by car, but at high speed the car hit a tree.
According to SP Keshav Chaudhary, vaccination was going on in the scheduled caste settlement. Jitendra’s supporter got negligible votes from there, so he wanted to equalize politically. Jitendra has also been accused of spoiling the atmosphere earlier. There was no aerial firing.
Health department team also attacked in Barabanki
A similar case also came to the fore in Barabanki. Villagers protested at the Revitipurwa village on Friday during a campaign of sampling Kovid suspects in Barabanki and forced the health department team to flee. The controversy started with not giving quota ration for not getting the testing done. On the orders of SDM Shalini Prabhakar, a case has been registered against the five attackers under the sections of rebellion, disaster etc.
Gopal Prasad, Indresh, Santosh Kumar and Akash, members of the RRT (Rapid Response Team) of Community Health Center Kothi, had gone to the kotedar’s shop in this village on Friday. Sampling of people with symptoms was to be done after getting a large number of infected people in this village on the previous day. Kovid test samples of 10 people were taken. Around 12:50 pm, a woman named Reshma refused to undergo a corona test.
Revathipurwa is hyper sensitive in the case of Kovid. A lot of infected have been found here in the past. On this, a team was sent to collect the samples of the people coming to take ration. There some villagers refused to give samples and tried to beat him. A case has been registered against five.
