Uttar Pradesh News: Students of graduation-PG in UP will be promoted without exam, only final year students will be tested

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big decision amidst the challenges arising due to the corona virus epidemic. The government will promote the students of the graduation and post graduation first year students of the university and their affiliated colleges without giving any examination. At the same time, the final year students of each course will have an examination. Apart from this, the paper will be of one and a half hours instead of 3 hours. Practical examinations will also remain canceled and viva will be online.

Deputy CM Dr Dinesh Sharma informed that the courses in which the first year students have been promoted to the next class without appearing in the previous session will have to appear for the second year examination this time. On the basis of the promoted standard, universities have been asked to submit an action plan by June 18. Sharma said that where the graduation first/3rd and post-graduation first semester examinations have been held, the graduation second/fourth (sem) and post-graduation second semester marks will be included on the basis of first/3rd semester marks and mid-term. may be determined on the basis of provisional assessment.

Results till August 31, new session from September 13
The Deputy Chief Minister, who is also handling the Higher Education Department, said that annual and semester examinations of about 41 lakh students of universities are to be conducted. The decision taken in this regard is after consultation with the Chief Minister and the Governor/Chancellor. In view of the dangers of corona infection, the scope of examinations has been limited. Sharma said that practical examinations will not be conducted and their marks will be decided on the basis of written examination. Apart from this, the oral examination will be conducted online while the examination system will be simplified from the university level. He said that the result would be declared by August 31, 2021 and the academic session 2021-22 would be started from September 13, 2021.
