Several opposition leaders have shared a video of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee taking a jibe at the Center over the rising prices of petroleum products. In that 1973 video, Vajpayee reached Parliament by bullock cart to protest the rising prices of petrol and diesel.

It can be seen in the video that Vajpayee is reaching Parliament by bullock cart. It is claimed that Vajpayee had taken out a protest against the increase of seven paise in the price of petrol at that time.

Sharing the video, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “This is a rare video of the opposition protesting against the 7 paise hike in the price of petrol in 1973. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had reached Parliament on a bullock cart.

Senior Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien also shared the video and took a jibe at the central government. He said, ‘History. Oh, is that so. When the price of petrol had increased by seven paise, Atal Bihari Vajpayee reached Parliament on a bullock cart.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti also targeted the Center by sharing this video.
