Digital Desk, New Delhi. A reward of Rs one lakh will be given on information related to the arrest of two-time Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar. Delhi Police announced this on Monday. Ajay Kumar, who is absconding with Sushil, has also placed a reward of 50 thousand rupees. Sushil Kumar and 9 others are accused of killing 23-year-old former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Rana.
On Saturday, a Delhi court issued a non-bailable warrant against all the absconding accused and the police had earlier issued a look-out-circular (LoC) against them.
The name of Sushil and his associates were revealed in this case. Since then the police is searching for these people. Sushil’s last location was found in Haridwar. Since then, his mobile is constantly shutting down. An FIR was lodged against Sushil Kumar at Model Town Police Station under sections 302 (murder), kidnapping (365), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. Different teams of police raided many places to catch Sushil Kumar and his associates, but they have not been successful so far.
The police have also recorded the statements of all the victims. The statements stated that Sagar and some of his friends were staying in a house attached to Sushil Kumar near the stadium. They were asked to vacate the house. Then they were forced out of this house. Sushil later came to know that Sagar had used the wrong words against him at the Chhatrasal Stadium in front of other wrestlers and also threatened to suffer dire consequences.
