New Delhi. Yuvraj Singh, the former all-rounder of Team India, is in a lot of discussion these days about his statements. Recently, he had predicted about the future captain of Team India, so now he has shared an interesting anecdote about opener Shikhar Dhawan. Currently, Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the captain of Team India, which is on the tour of Sri Lanka. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been made the vice-captain.
Dhawan’s captaincy is going to be fun
Yuvraj Singh has played cricket under the captaincy of Dhawan. Now he has shared an anecdote about Dhawan’s captaincy in the 2012 edition of the Duleep Trophy. He said that his captaincy is going to be a lot of fun. Because I have played under Shikhar’s captaincy and he has done some really fun moves. One of Shikhar’s favorite moves I remember was playing against the middle zone and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was batting on 49. Then Shikhar Dhawan suddenly called all the players inside the circle. I asked him what happened and he said Bhuvneshwar is batting on 99, so he has called everyone in the circle. Then I told him that Bhuvi was not batting on 99 but on 49. Then he sent everyone back.
Yuvraj said that in the second semi-final of the Duleep Trophy between North Zone and Central Zone, Dhawan scored 121 runs in 200 balls while I scored 208 runs in 241 balls. Bhuvi also played an innings of 128 runs for Central Zone in this innings. Both Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar will lead the Indian team in the white-ball series against hosts Sri Lanka. Dhawan-led Team India will play 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20Is in Sri Lanka from 18 July.
